WHAT WE CAN HELP WITH

Neurodivergence

If you are autistic, have ADHD or identify as neurodivergent, counselling can offer space to explore your experiences in a way that respects how you think and communicate.

What you may want to explore

You may feel misunderstood, exhausted by masking or overwhelmed by demands that do not fit your needs. Relationships, work, identity and self-esteem can all be part of the conversation.

You do not need a formal diagnosis to talk about these experiences.

Counselling that respects difference

The aim is to understand your experience, rather than treat difference as something that must be changed. You can discuss what pace, communication style or structure would make sessions more comfortable.

Tell us about any adjustments you would find useful. We can discuss what is possible and whether a counsellor’s experience is appropriate for your needs.

What this service does not provide

Counselling does not assess or diagnose autism or ADHD, prescribe medication or replace specialist neurodevelopmental services. It can support you with the emotional and personal experiences you want to explore.

Getting started

You do not have to choose a topic or describe your difficulties perfectly before booking. We can find a counsellor for you, or you can choose a qualified associate counsellor from the directory.

Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, online across the UK or face to face in Birmingham. Your first appointment is a chance to begin talking and see how it feels to work together.
