WHAT WE CAN HELP WITH

Confidence, identity and self-esteem

You may be questioning who you are, struggling with self-criticism or finding it hard to recognise your own needs. Counselling gives you space to explore this without pressure to define yourself.

When your sense of yourself feels uncertain

You might judge yourself harshly, doubt your decisions or feel shaped by what others expect. Questions about identity can follow change or loss, or have been present for a long time.

You do not need a clear label or explanation to talk about how you see yourself.

What you can explore in counselling

You can think about the experiences and relationships that have influenced your confidence, the values that matter to you and where your own needs get lost.

Your counsellor can help you notice patterns such as pleasing others, perfectionism or self-criticism. You can consider different ways of relating to yourself and people around you.

At your own pace

Counselling is not about persuading you to become a different person or promising constant confidence. It gives you room to understand yourself more fully, ask questions and explore what feels right for you.

Getting started

You do not have to choose a topic or describe your difficulties perfectly before booking. We can find a counsellor for you, or you can choose a qualified associate counsellor from the directory.

Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, online across the UK or face to face in Birmingham. Your first appointment is a chance to begin talking and see how it feels to work together.
