WHAT WE CAN HELP WITH
Anxiety and stress
When worry, pressure or exhaustion take up too much space, counselling can give you time to explore what is happening and what might help.
When pressure builds
You may find it difficult to switch off, feel caught in repeated worries or notice pressure affecting sleep, relationships and everyday decisions. Sometimes several responsibilities build up together.
You do not need to decide whether to call this anxiety, stress or overwhelm before asking for support.
Work stress and burnout
If work is leaving you depleted, counselling gives you space to think about the pressure you are under, expectations, boundaries and what is sustainable for you.
It is not about finding a way to tolerate every demand. You can explore what you need, what feels difficult to change and what choices are available.
What you can explore
What seems to trigger or sustain your worry.
How responsibilities, relationships or past experiences affect you.
Patterns such as overthinking, perfectionism or difficulty saying no.
You and your counsellor can consider different ways of responding. There is no promise of a quick fix, and what feels useful will vary from person to person.
When other support is needed
Counselling does not replace medical care where it is needed. It also does not provide employment advice, resolve workplace disputes or replace occupational health support. We can discuss the limits of what we offer.
Getting started
You do not have to choose a topic or describe your difficulties perfectly before booking. We find a counsellor for you, or you can choose a qualified associate counsellor from the directory.
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, online across the UK or face to face in Birmingham. Your first appointment is a chance to begin talking and see how it feels to work together.
