Crisis Support
When to seek urgent help
Counselling is not a crisis service. If you are feeling unsafe, overwhelmed, or at risk of harming yourself or others, it is important to seek urgent support.
Immediate support options (UK)
If you are in immediate danger, call 999.
You may also consider:
Contacting your GP
Accessing NHS urgent mental health services
Calling Samaritans (116 123) for 24/7 support
If you are unsure where to turn, contacting a trusted person may also help.
If you are already in counselling
If you are working with a counsellor and feel at risk between sessions, urgent support should be sought rather than waiting for your next appointment.
