Preparing for Your Session
Before your session
You do not need to prepare anything specific before counselling. There is no expectation to know what you want to say or to explain everything clearly.
Some people find it helpful to:
Note a few things they want to mention
Reflect on what prompted them to seek support
Allow extra time before or after the session
Others prefer to arrive without preparation. Both are fine.
Practical considerations
Before your first session, you may want to:
Check the session time and format (online or face-to-face)
Ensure privacy and minimal interruptions if meeting online
Familiarise yourself with cancellation policies
If anything feels uncertain, asking in advance can help you feel more at ease.
