Bereavement and Loss Counselling
Support When Life Has Changed
Loss can change the shape of life. You may feel sadness, longing, numbness, anger, guilt, relief, or confusion — sometimes all at once. Grief does not move in a straight line, and it does not follow a timetable.
Bereavement counselling offers space to talk about what has been lost and what that loss means to you, without pressure to move on, stay strong, or find closure.
What this counselling focuses on
making space for grief in all its forms
navigating waves of emotion and periods of numbness
changes in identity, role, or sense of belonging
carrying memories alongside everyday life
adjusting to absence and ongoing change
Who this may be helpful for
This may help if you are grieving a death or other significant loss (including separation, miscarriage, or major life change), or if grief continues to affect you long after others expect you to be “over it”.
When this may not be the right support
If grief is accompanied by acute risk or requires specialist intervention, another service may be more appropriate.
What working with our service looks like
Weekly 50-minute sessions, online or face-to-face, delivered within our ethical and clinical governance framework.
If you are living with loss and would value a supportive space to talk, counselling can help you carry it with less loneliness.
Choosing the right support
You don’t need to know which specialism is right for you before getting in touch. Many people arrive with overlapping experiences, or without clear labels at all.
Our team will work with you to understand what you’re looking for and help match you with a counsellor whose experience and approach feel appropriate.
We are not a crisis or emergency service and cannot provide urgent or intensive mental health care. Counselling is offered within clearly defined ethical and clinical boundaries
