Living with Long-Term Health Conditions
What this means
Living with a long-term health condition or disability can affect far more than physical wellbeing. You may be managing uncertainty, fatigue, pain, loss of independence, or changes in identity and relationships. It can also be hard when others minimise what you live with or expect you to “stay positive”.
Counselling offers space to explore the emotional impact without minimising physical reality.
What this counselling focuses on
adjustment to diagnosis, progression, or change
identity, independence, and self-worth
uncertainty about the future
emotional fatigue, frustration, grief, or anger
impact on relationships, work, and daily life
Who this may be helpful for
This may help if ongoing health challenges are affecting how you feel about yourself, your relationships, or your ability to live as you would like.
When this may not be the right support
Counselling does not replace medical care, pain management, or specialist health services.
What working with our service looks like
Weekly 50-minute sessions, online or face-to-face, within our ethical and clinical governance framework.
Boundaries
